Increased Excitement in Richmond

Last summer Beta Tech Richmond increased their size by 11,000 square feet and now six months later the size of the facility is not the only thing expanding. The enthusiasm, programs and placements have expanded more than ever before. Students, faculty and staff are entering the building with new pride because of the many positive changes occurring in all areas under the leadership of School Director Melissa Schick.

New Diploma! Beta Tech Richmond received accreditation to offer a diploma in Massage Therapy, a growing field with endless job possibilities. The program of study is 45 weeks with a comprehensive curriculum covering: Anatomy, Medical Ethics, Psychology, Human Relations, of course Massage Therapy techniques and much more. Graduates will be able to find employment in health spas, fitness centers, salons and Chiropractic Offices.

New programs for students have started that will enhance the educational experience and quality of education. Our campus began a student-mentoring program for incoming students. The new students have been matched with currently enrolled students who will serve as their mentors for the first two mods of their program. The experienced students have helped with learning the ropes of where classrooms are located, restrooms, will help when there are questions about registering for the next mod and more… We all know the uncertainty of doing something the first time and now new students do not have to do it alone. They have a contemporary (mentor) to help them along. Another new program called “Kudos for Workplace Dressing” is a fun initiative to encourage all students to dress as they would for the job in their careers. Twice per mod, the Career Services Coordinator visits classrooms and hands out kudos bars to everyone dressed to the professional standard of their career outlined and posted around the school. The students have been having fun with this program.

New Placements. The past few months have brought in new employers and opportunities for our graduates. Enhanced relationships with Redem Tech, a technology company in the Richmond area, had lead to the hiring of six gGraduates over the past 3 months. Pediatric Associates, a small pediatric practice in the Richmond area has hired two Beta Tech Richmond graduates over the past two months adding to the graduates they already have on staff. Numerous attorneys have hired Paralegal graduates to staff their offices. The relationships continue to grow.

The relationships, energy and enrollments are growing by the week. The excitement has just begun for Beta Tech Richmond.
