The Medical Assistant plays an important role as a member of today’s health team in a doctor’s office, clinic or hospital. Beta Tech's Medical Assistant training prepares you for a long and rewarding career in the exciting medical field.

Theory and practical application in the fundamentals of medical diagnostic and laboratory techniques are taught in our School. Students are introduced to the anatomy and physiology of the body. Our instructors will teach you the correct way to administer CPR and first aid techniques to be used in an emergency situation. You will engage in hands-on training in venipuncture, injections, urinalysis, measurement of vital signs, and preparation for physical and specialty exams.

The medical assistant program will introduce you to the procedures for the administration of medications, diseases and medications of the heart, and the importance of an electrocardiograph. You will even perform several EKGs yourself. In addition to the many medical skills you will learn, you will also be introduced to the basics of the front office procedures used in running a busy medical office.

We will train you on a computer in the use of a popular software suite. As you progress through your medical training program, you will study medical coding where you will learn CPT and ICD-9-CM codes that are used by doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies. The additional training in Career Development, near the end of the program, gives you the medical skills that you need to find that first important job, and then shows you how to advance in your career choice.

After graduation, you will be qualified for an exciting position in the medical field. The skills translate to dozens of medical jobs available both locally and throughout the country. You could qualify for an entry-level position such as a Medical Assistant, Medical Word Processor, EKG Assistant, Medical Office Clerk, Clinical Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Laboratory Assistant. You may find employment in a doctor’s office, medical clinic, hospital, or other health care facility. Your future is bright in the ever growing health care industry.
