Paralegal Law training provides you with the skills you need for an important job in today’s busy legal profession. A Paralegal works directly under the supervision of an attorney in a law office. To help prepare a case for trial a Paralegal will often investigate the facts of the case, conduct research, and assist in the final report used by the attorney to decide how the case should be handled. The Paralegal may assist in the preparation of legal agreements, draft pleadings filed with the court, obtain affidavits, and assist the attorney during the trial.
At Centura College, you will do legal research not only using the traditional legal library, but also using the most popular online legal databases in the country putting you on the cutting edge of legal technology. As a Paralegal student, you will learn the day-to-day procedures of running a busy office that includes word processing and machine transcription skills that are important to today’s modern legal office.
You will study the specialized legal areas of business law, criminal law, personal injury litigation, real estate law, and corporate law. Your education will be rounded out with general education courses in written and oral communication, literature, mathematics, and psychology.
Success in Career Development near the end of the program gives you the skills you need to find that first important job and then shows you how to advance in your career choice. During your final module in the school, you will participate in an externship working in a local legal office and gain a unique on-the-job experience, which will serve you well into your future in the legal world.

Upon graduation, you will be qualified for an exciting job in the legal profession. You will be qualified for an entry-level position such as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary for a private or corporate law office. Some Paralegals find jobs with the government at federal, state, and local courts.
